Sandakphu Trek
The Sandakphu trek is set is the Indian state of West Bengal and is considered to be one of the best winter treks in the country. The Sandakphu peak is the highest peak of the state of West Bengal with an altitude of 11,930 ft above the mean sea level. The trek is a simple one and falls under easy to moderate level of difficulty. It is good for beginners as well as regular trekkers. The trail includes views of the highest mountain peaks in the world including Mt Everest and the Kangchenjunga peak. The trail runs along the borders of two neighboring countries, that is, India and Nepal. The trek requires constant crossing of and into Nepal boundaries grasping stunning views of the famous sleeping Buddha statue. The temperatures during these months revolve around 8 to 15 degree Celsius during warmer months and around 8 to -8 degree Celsius during colder periods.
